Jim's pups arrived on 1-23-07 and joined the pack that night.


It has been very busy around here since then. It started with feedings every two hours, I am now doing every three hours and getting up a 3:00 a.m in the morning for one feeding during the night.


My laundry has really increased, due to the fact that these two poop and pee everywhere........ This morning when Chris kissed me good-bye he said
"you smell like baby formula" , lets just say I'm glad it was formula.


I am really looking forward to their little eyes opening. I can see blinking so I know it will not be long now.


I am so glad that I just have the two this time. I can really observe and get to know their ways and learn more about this beautiful breed from puppyhood. I got Maegan at four months old so I missed out on this stage with her.


Fionn the male is the largest and weighed 2.3 pounds at one week old.


Heather was the first to be born ( via C-section) and was at 1.8 pounds last week. They have definitely grown since then.


I have discovered that they nurse better with Playtex nursers, Fionn was nursing so rapidly that he would blow up like a little balloon. He is much better with this type of nipple, and Heather feeds much more eventuality too.


I just had to call off a little tiff between , Sugar my dachshund and Nutmeg, my dachshund mix, last night it was Sugar and Tinker, my min pin. The fact is Sugar does not want any other dog around the pups. I bet she was an awesome mom in her day.
I told Chris I bet Sugar has made lots of people happy over the years, because I believe she had lots of litters of her own. I do not let her with the pups, but she stands guard wherever they are.
