Tomorrow will be two weeks since I was bitten by a brown recluse spider.
I never want it to happen again!
I felt the bite, it was a bite like most bug bites not to bad, I did not see what bit me, but due to the symptoms that followed I know what it was.
The next day my whole lower right leg was really sore, and I was really nauseous.
The nausea continued for a few days and the site of the bite became more and more tender, but nothing real bad.
But a week after the bite things began to change. The site became VERY painful, red, purple and even grayish.....YUCK! I went to see a doc on Thursday of last week. I was given an antibiotic and a prescription for Bactrium and Lor-tab (which I did not get filled).I have been taking Motrin and that helps.
He told me to wash it with soap and water and keep it open to air as much as possible.
So this is it today, the first day I have been brave enough to take a picture.
I have been getting in a whirlpool with Epsom salt once a day in the evening....
It stays goopy and drains sometimes. I know it has to go through stages before it begins to heal....Anytime now would be nice.
The brown recluse is not welcome in my pack and I hope one will never visit me again!
